                                           Teen Volunteer Survey comment

                                 The certified teachers and uniformed
   personnel provide classroom instruction,
                                                                but local teens are the core of LMT
                                                                Safety Town's program. Teens guide
   the children on the miniature streets of
                                                                Safety Town, teach songs about safety,
                                                                and reinforce safety topics.  Our teens act as counselors, guiding the children throughout the program.  Most teens will be assigned to a group of children with a four to one ratio for the duration of the session. 

    Before the start of the sessions, we will conduct a three to four hour training session to familiarize the teens with the safety topics and our policies and procedures.   This year, in an effort to keep our teen volunteers safe, we will also have a 30 minute workshop on internet safety from the PA State Police. The teens will be required to attend one Teen Training Session (click the link for details).   

Teen Volunteer Requirements:
  • Must be at least 12 years old by Jan. 1, 2009
  • Age maximum is 17 years old
  • Must be energetic and committed to serving as
  a positive role model for young children
  • Must attend one Teen Training at Wescosville    
        Elementary from 10:00 am-1:30 pm on June 24th or 30th 
  • Must register online or mail completed Teen Volunteer Registration Form See below), signed by a parent/guardian to our post office box before our deadline. If you register online please print out the Parent Signature page to complete and either mail it in before June 21st or bring it with you to your teen training session.
  • You must attend all five days of the session(s) for which you commit.
  • Hours are from 8:30 am-12:30 pm on all days except Mondays.   Teens start at 8:00 am on Mondays.
  • Our cell phone and texting policies are the same as East Penn S. D.'s.

UPDATE JUNE 23rd:  ALL OF OUR SPOTS FOR TEEN VOLUNTEERS FOR LMT SAFETY TOWN 2009 HAVE BEEN FILLED.   WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AT LMT SAFETY TOWN 2010.
